Diverse Forms of High-Purity Nickel Materials

Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) is a commercially pure nickel alloy with a nickel content exceeding 99.0%. Its excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and outstanding machinability make it widely used in various industrial fields. This material can be processed into various forms such as plates, foils, and sheets to meet diverse industry needs.

Product Forms and Specifications

Nickel 200 Plates

Nickel 200 plates typically range in thickness from 0.3mm to 50mm and in width exceeding 2000mm. Surface finishes include hot rolling, cold rolling, and annealing, and different hardness states (soft (M), semi-hard, hard (H)) can be selected according to application requirements. The plates possess good weldability and formability, making them suitable for manufacturing large equipment such as chemical containers, reactors, and heat exchangers.

Nickel 200 Foils

Nickel 200 foils are extremely thin, reaching thicknesses of 0.02mm or even thinner, and widths up to 330mm. The foil is produced using a high-precision cold rolling process, with thickness tolerance controlled within ±0.001mm, high surface smoothness, and a curvature ≤0.5mm/M. The foil possesses excellent conductivity and oxidation resistance, making it particularly suitable for precision applications such as electronic components, battery electrodes, and electromagnetic shielding.

Ni 200 Sheet

Ni 200 sheet is positioned between sheet and foil, with a thickness typically between 0.1mm and 3mm. The sheet exhibits good ductility and processability, and can be processed into various shapes through stamping, shearing, and bending. The sheet is widely used in food processing equipment, electronic instrument parts, and chemical equipment linings.

Performance Characteristics

Ni 200 sheets, foils, and sheets possess the following outstanding properties:

Excellent corrosion resistance: It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in alkaline environments and reducing media, and has extremely high tolerance to caustic alkalis, including in the molten state. In a 50% boiling caustic soda solution, the annual corrosion rate does not exceed 25μm.

Excellent mechanical properties: Tensile strength 380-620MPa, yield strength 100-480MPa, elongation 35-55%, Brinell hardness 45-95HB. Maintains stable mechanical properties over a wide temperature range.

High electrical and thermal conductivity: Resistivity approximately 0.096×10⁻⁶Ω·m, thermal conductivity 70.2-90W/m·K, suitable for electronic and electrical applications and heat exchange applications.

Excellent processability: Can be hot-worked (900-1200℃) and cold-worked; good weldability, suitable for various welding methods such as TIG welding and MIG welding.

Application areas:
Chemical industry: Used in the manufacture of caustic alkali evaporators, reactors, heat exchangers, piping systems, etc., particularly suitable for highly corrosive environments such as alkali production, chlor-alkali chemical industry, and organochlorine production.

Electronics and electrical: Widely used as battery electrodes, conductive components, electromagnetic shielding materials, electronic components, etc., in new energy vehicles, energy storage systems, electronic equipment, etc.

Food Processing: Used in food processing equipment, salt refining equipment, etc., meeting food industry hygiene standards.

Aerospace: Used in high-temperature and high-pressure environments such as aircraft engine components, spacecraft structural components, and missile components.

Marine Engineering: Exhibits excellent resistance to seawater corrosion in marine environments such as seawater desalination plants, offshore platforms, and ship pipeline systems.

Standards Applied

Ni 200 plates, foils, and sheets conform to the following international standards:

• ASTM Standards: B160 (bars), B161 (seamless tubes), B162 (plates/strips), B163 (condenser tubes)

• Chinese Standards: GB/T 2054-2005, GB/T 2072-2007

• German Standards: DIN 17752, W.Nr.2.4060

Purchase Recommendations

When selecting Ni 200 plates, foils, and sheets, the appropriate product form and condition should be chosen based on the specific application environment:

• High-temperature environments (≤600℃): Ni 200 is recommended.

• Higher temperature environments (≤1230℃): Low-carbon variant Ni 201 is recommended.

• Corrosion resistance is important in chemical corrosive environments.

• Electrical and electronic applications require attention to the material's conductivity.

Ni 200 plates, foils, and sheets, with their excellent comprehensive performance and wide range of applications, have become indispensable key materials in modern industry. Whether in harsh chemical environments or sophisticated electronic equipment, Nickel 200 provides reliable performance assurance, offering solid material support for the development of various industries.
