Performance Characteristics

Molybdenum foil and strip possess a high melting point (2620℃), high density (10.2g/cm³), excellent high-temperature resistance (can be used at 1700℃ under vacuum or inert gas), good electrical and thermal conductivity, and corrosion resistance. The recrystallization temperature of molybdenum-lanthanum alloy (MoLa) can reach 1400-1600℃, significantly higher than the 1000-1100℃ of pure molybdenum.

Production Process

Molybdenum foil and strip are produced using powder metallurgy. The main process includes: molybdenum billet preparation → inspection → hot rolling → leveling and annealing → alkaline washing → inspection → warm rolling → vacuum annealing → inspection → cold rolling → leveling → shearing → vacuum annealing → inspection → packaging. For wide molybdenum strip, a special riveting-rough rolling-welding-finish rolling-vacuum heat treatment process is used.
